6 Injured after Vehicle Cuts off National Guard Convoy

On Thursday July 21st, 2011 a Humvee driver traveling in a convoy with the Illinois National Guard lost control of the vehicle when the convoy slowed down to pass a disabled semi-truck, forcing the freeway to be shut down.
Six people were injured in the accident involving several vehicles, including the Humvee and an Illinois National Guard bus, a news release from the Wisconsin State Patrol states.
A second news release from the DOT states a vehicle cut in front of the National Guard bus, causing the bus to swerve. The Humvee driver swerved to avoid the bus, which caused the Humvee to spin around and hit two trucks.
The accident occurred at 12:03 p.m. Thursday. Traffic on southbound Interstate-94 was closed and rerouted on to Highway G. The highway re-opened at 1:21 p.m., the release states.
