Boy missing after swimming at Racine beach
Racine - A boy is missing in Lake Michigan after getting stuck in rocks by a pier next to the Racine Yacht Club near North Beach, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
Rescuers began looking for the boy, believed to be about 11, about 4 p.m. Saturday.
The search involved Coast Guard vessels, a Coast Guard helicopter and rescuers from the Racine Fire Department, Racine County Sheriff's Department and the Racine County Water Rescue Response Team.
Divers reported an undertow in the area where the boy was last seen.
As of about 11 p.m., a Coast Guard boat and helicopter were still looking for the youth, conducting search patterns of the area where the boy was last seen, according to Lt. Casey Steuer, a Coast Guard public affairs officer.
A search of the area Sunday was conducted and called off when water conditions became un safe to continue.
Another search is set to begin Monday morning.
Body pulled from Lake Michigan identified as missing boy

RACINE - The Racine County Sheriff's Department identified the body pulled from the waters of Lake Michigan Thursday as that of missing swimmer Willie Bogan.
Bogan, 10, vanished while swimming in rough waters with two other boys Saturday.
"The Racine County Joint Communications Center received a call from a boater of a body located in lake Michigan approximately 300 yards off the shore from Racine's Zoo Beach," Racine County Sheriff Lt. Dan Klatt said in a news release. "A Racine County Sheriff's boat responded to the scene and recovered the body."
Bogan had been swimming with two other boys Saturday afternoon when a strong current pulled them toward some rocks. A lifeguard and a passerby were able to rescue the other two boys, but Bogan disappeared in the waves.
"The Racine County Sheriff's Water Patrol had been conducting surface searches since the boy was missing even after diving operations ceased," Lt. Klatt added. "The Sheriff's Office was committed to continue these searches until the boy was recovered."
"This is a tragedy," said Sheriff Christopher Schmaling. "We hope that the recovery will offer some level of closure for the family and friends of Willie. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family."
