South Shore firefighters were called at approximately 2140hrs to a report of a structure fire at Paradise West Bowling Alley at 6501 Washington Avenue on Wednesday night October 20th, 2010.
Upon arrival firefighters found the structure being evacuated and a fire in a mechanical area being held in check via the building sprinkler system.
Fire crews were able to put out the fire quickly and then worked on removing smoke from the building.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation but is belived to be accidental in nature involving cooking materials and propane tanks however substanial damage did occure to the wooden bowling lanes.
