2 hurt in crash that closed I-94 for more than 5 hours

May 20, 2010 | A crash on Interstate 94 in Racine County that closed a stretch of the highway for more than five hours injured two male drivers, one who had to be flown by Flight for Life helicopter to Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa.
The other driver was taken to Wheaton Franciscan hospital in Franklin after the crash, reported shortly after 2:30 p.m. on I-94 just north of the County Highway G overpass, according to a news release from the Racine County Sheriff's Department.
According to the release, a southbound tractor trailer rolled onto its side, pushing a median construction barrier wall into the northbound lane, which caused a collision involving another tractor trailer, a tanker semi and a car.
The injured drivers were operating the tractor trailers, according to the release that did not include information on their conditions.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes were closed until about 8 p.m., according to the release.
Agencies on scene included Raymond Fire & Rescue, Caledonia Fire & Rescue, Union Grove/Yorkville Fire & Rescue, Racine Sheriffs Department, Wisconsin State Patro; and Caledoina Police Department.
