On Sunday night May 2nd, 2010 at approximetly 2026hrs members of the Cudahy Fire Department were dispatched to a report of a vehicle over a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan in the 6200 blk of S. Lake Drive.
When firefighters arrived they found a Dodge Ram truck approximetly 70' down a bluff bogged down in heavy mud with a person trapped in the vehicle.
As fire crews worked to free the trapped driver a Special Call was made at 2029hrs for an Engine from the St. Francis Fire Department to set up a Landing Zone for Flight for Life in the parking lot of St. Luke's South Shore Hospital down the street from the incident.
A Full Assignment was requested at 2046hrs which brought firefighters from St. Francis, South Milwaukee, Franklin and Greenfield to the scene to assist with extrication and manpower to bring the victim up the bluff.
Firefighters completed extrication of the victim and brought him up the bluff at 2212hrs where the patient was turned over to a crew from Flight for Life at which time he was flown to a Trauma Center in Milwaukee County.
